The rcgui.exe file is the executable process for a Remote Control Client or Remote Control GUI, the administration of controlling the computer from an isolated or separated location. The RCgui.exe software is increasingly common as it is naturally used in situations that are impractical or difficult being physically near a device or machine to use it. Remote location could mean a computer in another or nearby room, or may be on another side of the globe. It could also mean legal and illegal remote administration. RCgui.exe is more known as the LANDesk, and is part of the services for the LANDesk Software, Ltd., the front-end binary which provides I.T. control on remotely connected machines. LANDesk supports systems management, service management, security management, management solutions for organizations, and assets management. It is among the oldest companies that provide this kind of product. The LANDesk software runs well with devices running on Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. rcgui.exe. is used by Remote Control Client, If you shut down rcgui.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop rcgui.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Remote Control Client, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Remote Control Client, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
