The pwrisovm.exe file is the executable process for PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager, a software for creating, opening, mounting/emulating, compressing, encrypting, and manipulating CD and DVD image files. The features of the pwrisovm.exe process are: • Support for both the 32-bit and the 64-bit Windows • Ability to open and extract standard files • Ability to create a regular file from disk drive files • Ability to edit a file • Ability to create bootable files • Ability to create a floppy disk file • Ability to save disk space by optimizing and saving ISO files • Ability to mount files with internal virtual drive • Support for shell-integration • Ability to save DAA images using PowerISO, and add features absent in ISO (obtainable by manually compressed ISO files) • Ability to compress DAA images and save space to allow downloads • Password-protected DAA images • Ability to split images into smaller files

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pwrisovm.exe. is used by PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager, If you shut down pwrisovm.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pwrisovm.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager, from your system.
