What is  persistencethread.exe

The persistencethread.exe file, or PersistenceThread Background App, is an executable file considered as one of the components of Intel (R) Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) version 500, which is created by Intel Corporation. In Windows NT, this same file is bundled in the Intel Poulsbo Drivers or Intel LDDM Ultra Mobile Media software. This file program is usually pre-installed in computers via the use of Intel chips. What this file process does is to reset the screen brightness of the computer to its default, once the system is resumed or restarted from sleep mode. During startup, it automatically executes from three entries in the system registry, which are Run entry, RunOnce entry, and RunServicesOnce entry. Usually found in the folder C:\Windows\System32, persistencethread.exe file has three variants of sizes, which include 92,696 bytes. While it does not have any visible window, this process is a Verisign signed file with a digital signature, making it a trustworthy file program for Windows.
