The pcspeedscan.exe process is an executable component file implemented with other system drivers, program files and modules that are needed and referenced by the PC SpeedScan Pro software, which is an applciation classified as a Windows System Registry cleaner program that was developed by Ascentive with a set of functionalities for detecting and removing invalid and corrupted keys and entries in the Windows System Registry. The pcspeedscan.exe process is included in the installation distributions of the PC SpeedScan Pro software and is installed in the system alongside the other program files and modules of the PC SpeedScan Pro application. The pcspeedscan.exe process is specifically deployed as the executable program dispatcher file of the PC SpeedScan Pro program, which means the pcspeedscan.exe process, upon its activation by the user, calls on associated program files, system drivers and modular resources in order to load the PC SpeedScan Pro software and implement its functionalities into the system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. pcspeedscan.exe. is used by Ascentive PC SpeedScan Pro, If you shut down pcspeedscan.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop pcspeedscan.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Ascentive PC SpeedScan Pro, from your system.
