Called by the service name NscTop Module, the nsctop.exe file is a module that is essentially labeled as executable or EXE file, and is a component of the software Norton AntiVirus Snap-in, or Norton AntiVirus Add-On, or Symantec System Center, which is a created by Symantec. While the software product is installed onto the program, the nsctop.exe process is added, registered into the Windows registry, stored on a folder location, and automatically run in the background as a service of the program that houses it. This file is also a Windows module, which suggests that it works with most or all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, or Windows OS, which include Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME. This is not just a component, but a module with a digital signature (Symantec Corporation - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer).

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nsctop.exe. is used by Symantec System Center or Norton AntiVirus Snap-in or Norton AntiVirus Add-On, If you shut down nsctop.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop nsctop.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Symantec System Center or Norton AntiVirus Snap-in or Norton AntiVirus Add-On, from your system.
