It is an executable process for components of the Linksys software and drivers from Cisco. A driver for a device like the router used in wireless networks is a computer program that operates and controls a particular part of the device that is attached to the computer. The computer bus or communication subsystem in the computer to which the device is attached communicates with the device. A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router but also acts as a wireless access point and a network switch. It provides access to the Internet or a computer network but do not require a wired link since communication is done through radio waves. It can function in a wired LAN (local area network), in a wireless-only LAN (WLAN), or in a mixed wired/ wireless network, depending on the manufacturer and model.
