ZENworks Application Engine is the service name of the process known as nalagent.exe, a type of an executable or EXE file, and is a component of the program ZENworks Desktop Management, which is developed by Novell Inc. ZENworks Desktop Management, also called as Novell ZENworks, is a type of management software and utility tool for computer system, that is made to help manage the life cycle of the server or servers, as well as the overall functionality of the computer, either a desktop PC or a compact virtual machine, such as laptop or notebook. This program also features a full disk encryption functionality, and supports multiple server environments or platforms, as well as directory services. It is advisable to keep the file nalagent.exe functional and working, since it is a component of the software, and while running in the background, it enables its task that is performed or processed that complete the overall functionality of ZENworks Desktop Management.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. nalagent.exe. is used by ZENworks Desktop Management, If you shut down nalagent.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
