The lxbutime.dll file is a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) module that works with other system and application-specific modular DLL components, certain SYS driver utilities, specific system and background process items, some EXE application resources and various components, which are used and referenced by both the Windows-based system and the firmware distributions and drivers of certain Lexmark printer/scanner device models for implementing the timer functionalities embedded into these supported printing/scanning machines from Lexmark International. This means the lxbutime.dll file is distributed with these resource files and libraries in order for the associated Lexmark printer/scanner device to perform certian operations and integrate various functionalities into the system as requested by the user. The lxbutime.dll module is specifically deployed by these Lexmark printer/scanner firmware utilities and driver software distributions as the main component of the Lexmark Timer DLL module, which is an applet built into the Lexmark Connect software. The Lexmark Connect application is a Windows program that is bundled with these Lexmark printer/scanner firmware components and device drivers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lxbutime.dll. is used by Lexmark Printer/Scanner Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Connect and Timer DLL Module, If you shut down lxbutime.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lxbutime.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Lexmark Printer/Scanner Firmware/Driver Software and Lexmark Connect and Timer DLL Module, from your system.
