The LastPass software is classified as a Web browser password management application developed to implement a set of password security and management protocols that can serve as an alternative to the integrated password security and management features of widely used Web browsers for Windows-based systems, such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. The lpbar.dll module is placed in the system alongside the other resource files and libraries of the LastPass Toolbar software upon the installation and configuration of this Web browser password management application.
