The lockmon.exe process is an executable program file distributed alongside other EXE application resources, some DLL (Dynamic Link Library) modules, certain SYS driver utilities, particular background process items and other components that work together with system resources, in order to implement the embedded functionalities of hardware components equipped into certain Acer laptops and desktop computers. This means the lockmon.exe process is used by the firmware utilities and device driver software distributions of these supported Acer laptop and desktop models, which also means the lockmon.exe file and these other resource files and libraries are integrated into the installer packages of these Acer firmware and driver software utilities. The lockmon.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of these associated Acer driver software components and firmware distributions. The system and these Acer firmware and driver software utilities activate the lockmon.exe process whenever this executable file is required to call on other associated components and resource libraries, in order to load the associated functionalities of certain hardware and software resources bundled with these supported Acer laptops and desktops unto the Windows-based system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. lockmon.exe. is used by Acer Firmware and Driver Software Utilities, If you shut down lockmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop lockmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Acer Firmware and Driver Software Utilities, from your system.
