Associated Program: ArcGIS License Manager
Programm Category: Business Applications

What is  lmgrd.exe

Lmgrd.exe is the executable file for the License Manager Daemon, a non-destructive license management application program. Also called the hardware key, it is a similar copy-protection mechanism that controls the distribution of licensed software copies to the requesting end-user of license. The lmgrd.exe process installs its two program utilities, the ArcGIS Desktop and the ArcInfo Workstation, and can be incorporated in as many computers as the user may prefer. The number of purchased licenses determines the number of the users who run the software products simultaneously. These applications may be purchased online. The License Manager Daemon can be installed in a machine with an ArcGIS product installed. The system requirements for this software are properly functioning TCP/IP communication components running on any licensed Windows-based computers. The TCP/IP will require a network card with its drivers, or an MS Loopback Adapter in the Windows workstation. ArcGIS installations also define the existing license manager in the machine.
