What is  led.exe

The led.exe file is an executable application process that has been reported by many users as a malicious program integrated with worm-like functionalities. The same user reports claim that the led.exe process is associated with the Fagled worm, which is a malicious application that has been known to infect Windows-based computers through hijacked emails and IM (Instant Messaging) exploits. The led.exe process is said to be capable of sending MIME emails and IMs using contact information collected from the infected system, in order to distribute links that point to the executable component of this worm. The led.exe process is also said to be packaged as email attachments, and, upon clicking the subject lines of these emails, the led.exe file attachment is activated, which in turn allows it to penetrate the system, create and inject certain keys and entries into the Windows System Registry, in order for the led.exe process to be allowed by the compromised system to automatically initialize during system startup and to operate in the background without user consent during system runtime.
