What is klim5.sys
The klim5.sys process is a system driver file that is used by the Kaspersky Anti-Virus program to perform some of its embedded features and implement a few of its integrated functionalities into the Windows-based system. The Kaspersky Internet Security software also integrates the klim5.sys file as one of its system driver utilities. The klim5.sys process is specifically deployed by these two Kaspersky system security tools as a component of the Kaspersky Labs Intermediate Network Driver module, which is an applet built into these Kaspersky applications, and this module is responsible for implementing network resource management functionalities required by these Kaspersky programs upon user request. While installing these Kaspersky applications, the klim5.sys file is placed in the system alongside other SYS driver utilities, certain modular DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files, some executable application resources, specific background process items and various components. This means the klim5.sys file and these other resources are bundled into the installer distribution packages of the Kaspersky Anti-Virus software and the Kaspersky Internet Security program.
