eFax Messenger- Tray is the service name of the executable file called j2gtray.exe, which is a component of eFax Messenger, also Remote Administrator, and is developed by j2 Global Communications, Inc. eFax Messenger- Tray is the tray menu of the program eFax Messenger, which is used to send and receive faxes in a more convenient way, as it does not require a user to print, or manually fax documents. In fact, this software allows a user to receive messages through email as well. eFax Messenger- Tray, or j2gtray.exe, is one part that makes it easier, faster and more comfortable to use the program. Other than that, it has function that may enable other processes bundled within the software. That being said, j2gtray.exe is a file that needs to be kept on the computer system, and run in the background. It must not be deleted or terminated, as it can disable the entire program or won’t launch other modules that rely on it. In addition, this file is compatible with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, particularly Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. j2gtray.exe. is used by eFax Messenger, If you shut down j2gtray.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop j2gtray.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is eFax Messenger, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
