What is ir.exe
The ir.exe process, which is a component of Hauppauge WinTV Infrared Remote or also known as Hauppauge Computer Works IR, is referred to as IR Remote created by Hauppauge Computer Works. IR Remote features three major elements, which are transmitter that sends infrared signals to receiver, receiver that is connected to the card of WinTV through a cable, and IR software that interprets the infrared signals. This is used primarily for WinTV that enables a person to control the WinTV program even from a distance. In most occasions, the Hauppauge WinTV Infrared Remote or IR Remote is installed from the setup menu of WinTV application, but in case there is not, the user needs to download it separately. As a main component, the ir.exe file runs in the background to check if the receiver is getting a signal from its transmitter, and ultimately sends command to Windows. It means the ir.exe file is essential to be executed if IR Remote is desired or needed to use.
