What is intel.exe
The intel.exe file is an executable process that has been indicated in many user reports as a malicious application associated with the Backdoor.Robofo program, which is a known backdoor rootkit application. Other user reports claim that the intel.exe process is part of the Trojan.Win32.Agent.aukd software, which is a family of Trojans. As a backdoor rootkit program, the intel.exe process has been reported to be capable of running during system startup due to certain keys and entries it can create and inject into the Windows System Registry upon its successful placement and activation in Windows-based systems, and after its initialization, the intel.exe process begins to search for backdoor system vulnerabilities like unsecure TCP/IP network ports that can allow this malicious application to initiate contact with the remote servers of its authors, in order to open the infected system for possible hacker attacks, certain user privacy risks and data security threats. As a Trojan, the intel.exe process has been reported to be capable of implementing these backdoor rootkit functionalities into the infected system, in order to download more malicious applications that can gather data and Internet browsing information from the infected system and its default Web browser.
