The inet.exe has been reported by some users as a possible malicious application that belongs to the Downloader-ASH.gen.b family of Trojans. The same user reports claimed that the inet.exe file is integrated into the system upon the placement of various files that have been downloaded from suspicious websites, warez networks and pirate portals. The inet.exe process has also been reported to be capable of creating and injecting entries and keys into the Windows System Registry, in order for the inet.exe process to initialize automatically during system startup. Some users stated that the inet.exe process can search for system vulnerabilities it can exploit, in order to initiate contact with Web servers that are managed and operated by the authors of the inet.exe file. Upon initiating contact with these Web servers, the inet.exe process then proceeds to download more malicious applications that have been reported by some users to cause system stability problems, hacker attacks, user privacy threats or data security risks in the infected computer.
How can I stop inet.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. inet.exe. is used by Downloader-ASH.gen.b, If you shut down inet.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop inet.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Downloader-ASH.gen.b, from your system.
