The indexsearch.exe file refers to index searching, which is one of the functions of the program PaperPort Scanner Module, a document management software. This process enables the program to work with a variety of document applications, such as PDF files, scanned papers, and other digital documents. The program PaperPort Scanner Module allows a user to create document or PDF files through a scanning device for documents, whether a local or networking scanning. Any document printed in real paper, whether a text or photo, can be scanned and created into a digital document, which the user can save on his or her computer, share via email attachment or upload on the web. What does this file program do is to provide an easy, fast and more manageable index searching for documents that are scanned. A user manually types a word, a phrase or even a filename of the document (also scanned photo), that he or she needs to find, and that’s technically what the indexsearch.exe file does.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. indexsearch.exe. is used by PaperPort Scanner Module, If you shut down indexsearch.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop indexsearch.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is PaperPort Scanner Module, from your system.
