The incd.exe file is the core component of the software for Nero AG InCD. It is also the executable file that launches the applications for Ahead Software AG InCD. The process gives users the convenience of transferring files from the PC to a blank CD via a drag-and-drop method; as opposed to the more typical way of copying files onto a CD-burning UI and then launching the CD burner. You can either drag the files from Windows Explorer or from an open MS application and the drop these directly on the UI for InCD. While the application does provide for an easier method of copying files to a blank CD or DVD, there are certain limitations that compromise the effectiveness of the software. For instance, CDs that were made using the InCD platform are not read, in general, by CD drives that are not of the same brand or model as the one that was used to make the CD. Therefore, users are not guaranteed that the CD will be recognized by other media players.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. incd.exe. is used by InCD CD-RW Utility, If you shut down incd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop incd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is InCD CD-RW Utility, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as InCD CD-RW Utility, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
