The process iksysflt.sys, known as System Filter Device Driver, belongs to software System Filter Driver from PCTools Research Pty. The System Filter Driver is a driver that sits on top of the file system and examines requests made to the file system to determine how or if the request will be handled. This optional driver adds value to or modifies the behavior of a file system. The System Filter Driver can filter I/O operations for one or more file systems or file system volumes. The process driver iksysflt from PC Doctor can filter requests, which means it can log, observe, modify or even prevent requests, which is part of its functionality as an anti-virus software component. Anti-Virus filter drivers like System Filter Driver from PC Tools intercepts the request from an application to open a file, and examines the file being opened to ensure that is not an infected file. If the file is clean, the request is sent on to the file system, but if the file is suspicious, the virus scanner notifies the associated Windows service process to quarantine or clean the file.
