The iatmunin.sys process is a component driver file of the PhysX software, which is developed by Ageia as a proprietary physics engine middleware realtime Software Development Kit (SDK) that also refers to the Physic Processing Unit expansion card for accelerating video games supported by PhysX. The video games that use the PhysX hardware acceleration functions can be upgraded by the PhysX PPU to perform other tasks for a smoother gaming experience while adding more visual effects for the video games. The iatmunin.sys file is specifically deployed by PhysX software as a part of the driver utilities of its system that can assist in the running of its real time acceleration functionalities for program-supported video games allowing game users and developers to manually write codes to control complex physics interactions suited for modern video games into Windows-based computer system and other operating systems. The iatmunin.sys file process is placed in the computer upon the installation of the PhysX software into the video game tools.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. iatmunin.sys. is used by PhysX software, If you shut down iatmunin.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
