The hpwirelessmgr.exe file is the process called HPWirelessMgr Module that is used by the application Notebook Utilities created by Hewlett-Packard Company or HP. This is not a visible program. It is not a system process. Notebook Utilities is an application that helps the user to quick lock the system, calibrate the battery, use fireless functions and switch the display. Version 4.00 E of the software is compatible with Windows XP, XP Home Edition and Professional. A file with an EXE extension pertains to an executable file or program on OS/2, Windows, Symbian, DOS and OpenVMS operating systems. Aside from the executable program, various EXE files have components called resources like icons and bitmaps that the executable program can use for its GUI [graphical user interface]. An executable file is a program that can be run by the operating system as an application on computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hpwirelessmgr.exe. is used by HP Notebook Utilities, If you shut down hpwirelessmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hpwirelessmgr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is HP Notebook Utilities, from your system.
