What is  hotkeydriver.exe

The hotkeydriver.exe file is the process called Hotkey MFC Application that is part of the application ATK Hotkey Utility created by ASUSTeK. This program uses an icon on the taskbar. It is not a core file for Windows. It can record inputs. ATK Hotkey Utility is a set of system drivers for controlling function keys on some laptop models by Lenovo or ASUS. It tells the computer how to function when you activate function keys. It manages keys that include shortcuts activated by Fn key, Internet shortcut keys and media control keys. This utility is usually included in Lenovo or ASUS laptops that include function keys such as the Lenovo Thinkpad. Hotkey functions include switching between external monitor output and laptop screen, brightness control for your screen, turning on and off the wireless network cards and activating number and scroll locks.

How can I stop hotkeydriver.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. hotkeydriver.exe. is used by ASUSTeK or ATK Hotkey Utility, If you shut down hotkeydriver.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop hotkeydriver.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ASUSTeK or ATK Hotkey Utility, from your system.
