The guardmailru.exe process is part of the GuardMailRu Module. The process is being used by the Instant Messaging Computer Program (ICQ) technology, which is present in chat programs. The EXE file provides the user with protection from malicious files from other users. The ICQ technology features offline user messaging, multi-user chats, free SMS sending, file transfers, greeting cards, multiplayer games and a user directory. ICQ has been the first one to use instant messaging. At present, it integrates instant messaging and social networks into a social messaging tool. ICQ is seen to be present everywhere, from the desktop to the mobile phones. It allows the user to contact his friends and colleagues in real time. He or she will just set his or her contact list, and then will be notified once his or her friends go online.
