The gravisense.exe file is a process used by the application Acer GraviSense by Acer Technology. It is not a core file for Windows. Acer GraviSense is an application that is available for selected models of TravelMate only. Acer TravelMate is a series of notebooks manufactured by Acer. Acer Gravisense is a tool created to protect your hard drive from damage cause by strong movement or vibration such as from a fall or sudden drop. This will help reduce damage risks to the mechanics of the hard drive caused by these events. This program can also activate an alarm when an unauthorized person accesses your notebook through its Anti-Theft option. It automatically protects your data by parking the read/write heads in the hard disk of your Acer notebook away from storage disk when sudden motion is detected. The gravisense.exe process displays an icon on the system tray while the program is running.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. gravisense.exe. is used by Acer GraviSense, If you shut down gravisense.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop gravisense.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Acer GraviSense, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.
