The file fwsvc.exe, known as WinAntiVirus Pro, belongs to software WinAntiVirus Pro (version 2006). This software is classified as a rogue anti-spyware program, which seems like a clone of XP Antivirus and Windows Antivirus Pro. Similar to other rogue software, WinAntiVirus Pro is prone to use misleading information and scare tactics to persuade users to buy the full version of the program. This process belongs to the family of scareware rogue security programs developed by WinSoftware, which claim to repair computer system problems on Microsoft Windows computers if the user purchases the full version of the software. According to the McAfee classification, the free version of this program aims to alarm the user into paying for registration, at least partially based on false or erroneous detections. Rogue security software like WinAntiVirus Pro mainly relies on fraud to defeat the security built into operating system and browser software, displaying a fictitious warning dialog that the system is infected with a computer virus.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. fwsvc.exe. is used by WinAntiVirus Pro, If you shut down fwsvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop fwsvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is WinAntiVirus Pro, from your system.
