The flashcatch.dll file is the process called FlashCatch that is used by the application FlashCatch created by Level 9 Technology. A DLL or dynamic link library file has a mechanism of shared codes and data that can be applied to different applications at the same time. This DLL file is a BHO [browser helper object] that automatically runs when you launch your Internet browser. It is not a visible program. It can change or monitor the behavior of Internet Explorer. The flashcatch.dll file has a digital signature from Level 9 Technology, Inc. with certificate issued by Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer – G3. FlashCatch is a plug-in program for FireFox and Internet Explorer browsers that downloads FLV and Flash videos. You can download streaming HD videos from Websites like CNN, YouTube and Break. It provides an icon on the toolbar for you to click and start your video download directly to hard drive.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. flashcatch.dll. is used by FlashCatch, If you shut down flashcatch.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop flashcatch.dll, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is FlashCatch, from your system.
