The file erorguard.exe belongs to software error Guard from Error-Guard, which is downloaded through ActiveX. Error Guard is classified as Adware that comes bundled with spyware applications that tricks the user to buy the program. It scans the system for errors, and detects entries by vendors like Computer Associates, Kaspersky, Symantec, and Microsoft. It convinces the user into thinking that the detected items are critical and have to be removed from the system through the use of the paid version of Error Guard. Once installed in the system, Error Guard monitors the user's activities on the PC and relay the stolen information back to its developers. The stolen information may contain sensitive information such as financial data, passwords, credit card numbers, and passwords. This application creates serious holes in the system, which makes the PC more susceptible to future infections and attacks by malware.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. errorguard.exe. is used by Error Guard, If you shut down errorguard.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop errorguard.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Error Guard, from your system.
