Developed by Nuance Communications, a leading global provider of speech and imaging solutions for business, ereg.exe is the executable file for the OP12 Reminder, a registration reminder program for the OmniPage Professional 12. It acts by monitoring or tracking the unregistered version of the software while the user is utilizing the program. If it detects an unregistered software, it prompts the user and gives information on how to gain full access to the program and its features. Ereg.exe runs automatically when Windows starts and continues to run in the system background. Included in the OmniPage Professional is the Optical Character Recognition software which handles handmade, typewritten, and printed images for data translation or encryption mechanically and electronically, converting them into an editable text format. The OmniPage Professional 12 software offers precise OCR analysis, Logical Form Recognition technology, advanced security features, and layout detection. This program package turns office and documents into different types of computer applications which can be useful for data searching, sharing, and editing.
