The file eqbranch.exe is a component of software PurityScan, which is a program whose stated purpose is to scan the computer for hidden adult-related files. The downloaded advertisements come from domains that include fp.clickspring.net, www.clickspring.net, legend.psdtools.com, pisces.clickspring.com, and app.whenu.com. Adware PurityScan contacts a remote server on the clickspring.net domain to register system information and the status of the application with the server and checks for software updates to install.
