What is  epm.exe

The epm.exe process is the executable file for ePowerManagement, an instructional document by Acer Value Labs (Taiwan) pre-installed in Acer laptops. It contains the recommended power management schemes supported, and can be opened in the folder C:\Acer\ePM. The three main features of the power management are: (1) Partition Manager, (2) Partition Recovery Wizard, and (3) Disk & Partition. The first feature solves low disk problems, resize/move function, create, merge, convert, format/wipe partition, convert dynamic disk, and defragmentation among many others. It allows disk map drag-and-drop. In addition, it does not require reboot after extending the NTFS system partition. The second feature pertains to partition copying on hard disk. (For example, when the user prefers disk upgrade to a larger one, and transferring it over to the Windows system, or the data over to other disks). A copy of dynamic disk replacement and/or backup is provided. The third feature provides help for recovering deleted or lost NTFS, FAT, and EXT2/EXT3 partitions to avoid personal, hardware and software failure or virus attack, or even hacker's intrusion that results to partition loss.
