The file emedshl.dll is a Direct Link Library file for software EmEditor version 3. EmEditor is a lightweight, easy to use, and extendable text editor for Windows that supports macros and Unicode (UTF-7, UTF-8, and UTF-16), which allows versatility and multi-language support. It allows users to quickly and easily open and edit large files of up to 248 GB using a large file controller that is optimized for speed and reliability. The program features VBScript macros, JavaScript, and text encoding support with automatic encoding detection, file reload with a different encoding, Byte Order Mark support, and detection of encoding errors. EmEditor is extensible with plug-ins written in C/C++, and the plug-ins installed by default include Outline, HTMLBar, WordComplete, WebPreview, Search, and Word Count. The program is scriptable using the Windows ScriptHost. The scripts are written in JavaScript, VBScript, and any scripting language that supports Active Scripting.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. emedshl.dll. is used by EmEditor, If you shut down emedshl.dll, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
