The file em2.exe is part of software Easy Message, which is an instant messaging application that supports AOL Messenger, MSN Messenger, ICQ, and Yahoo Messenger. The process em2 integrates all the contacts from the supported instant messaging clients into just one free messenger service. Easy Messenger is known for its extremely small size and low use of system resources. The original version of Easy Messenger was last updated in June 2004. Easy Messenger was purchased by 180solutions in February 2005, and was used for Zango Easy Messenger. The application Zango Easy Messenger that evolved from the original Easy Messenger has behaviors that were classified as spyware by the StopBadware org. Zango Easy Messenger behavior includes automatic startup, display of popup advertisements, installation of adware, and installation of bundled software that cannot be closed. Although not classified as badware, users of Zango Easy Messenger should be aware of the observed unfavorable behaviors of the instant messaging application.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. em2.exe. is used by Easy message, If you shut down em2.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop em2.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Easy message, from your system.
