The file ekiomngr.sys, known as IoManager Application, belongs to software Compal IoManager Application by Compal Electronics Inc. The IoManager Application is a driver file from Compal Electronics that is installed in the system together with the device that is supplied by Compal Electronics. The company is an original design manufacturer that handles the production of notebook computers and monitors for clients that include Acer, Toshiba, Dell, and Hewlett-Packard. The I/O (input/ output) manager in the computer is the driver that manages communications between applications and the interfaces provided by the device drivers. Because devices operate at speeds that may not match the operating system, the communication between the operating system and the device drivers is primarily done through I/O request packets that are passed from the operating system to specific drivers and from one driver to another. The IoManager Application is a kernel mode driver that is important to ensure the functionality of devices such as the keyboard, mouse, and audio controllers that are attached to the computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. ekiomngr.sys. is used by IoManager application, If you shut down ekiomngr.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop ekiomngr.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is IoManager application, from your system.
