What is  drvinst.exe

The drvinst.exe process is the file loader for Scheduled Tasks for Microsoft Windows. It pre-configures the script, documents, and programs any time the user logs on to the PC. Scheduled Tasks starts upon every boot up and it stays running in the background. The drvinst.exe file can be located by its identifier name \Microsoft\Windows\Plug and Play\Sysprep Generalize Drivers found in the local driver of the PC. The installation module is owned and developed by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975 when they founded Microsoft Corporation, the software company known worldwide for its operating system and Office suite of productive applications. Drvinst.exe continues to be the basic installation program for Scheduled Tasks even after Microsoft had partnered with IBM (International Business Machines) in 1980, giving birth to the manufactured IBM computers with Microsoft Windows operating system which dominated the worldwide use (Bing Search Engine, MSN internet portal among others), and corporate market.

How can I stop drvinst.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. drvinst.exe. is used by Driver Installation Module, If you shut down drvinst.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop drvinst.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Driver Installation Module, from your system.
