The docmgr.exe file is an instance of a Windows process that comes with the service name Document Manager Hook Startup, and is a part of the program EMBASSY Security Center, or EMBASSY Trust Suite, or specifically Document Manager Lite, which is created by Wave Systems Corporation. Document Manager is an application that belongs to EMBASSY Trust Suite software, and is used to enable a user secure his or her file folders and drives using an encryption. It is a type of security and privacy document manager as it recommends encryption. The file docmgr.exe is the launcher of the program, so it is considered a basic but essential component that needs to continue to run in the background. It suggests that this file must not be terminated, deleted or stopped, unless it starts to cause errors that can be slowing down the performance of the system, or disabling the entire Document Manager Lite software.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. docmgr.exe. is used by EMBASSY Security Center or EMBASSY Trust Suite, If you shut down docmgr.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop docmgr.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is EMBASSY Security Center or EMBASSY Trust Suite, from your system.
