NT Disk Manager Startup Driver, also called Startdriver til NT Disk Manager, is the process name of the driver file called dmboot.sys, and is a part of the program VERITAS NT Disk Manager, which is developed by Microsoft Corporation, Veritas Software. This driver file is not just a simple process, but a module with digital signature from Microsoft Windows 2000 Publisher - NO LIABILITY ACCEPTED, (c)97 VeriSign, Inc. VERITAS NT Disk Manager is a logical volume manager application exclusively for Microsoft Windows NT, which is developed by Microsoft Corporation and Veritas Software, and is used as a basic storage that feature disk partition (primary and extended partitions). It is an essential component that needs to continuously run in the background, and must not be terminated or stopped, as it has a specific function that is relevant to the user. Unless it is causing problems or errors, dmboot.sys should remain stored and active on the computer system.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dmboot.sys. is used by VERITAS NT Disk Manager, If you shut down dmboot.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dmboot.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is VERITAS NT Disk Manager, from your system.
