The file dld.exe, known as Download acceleration and management solution, belongs to software DownloadDirect by SenBit. Download Direct (DLD) is software that accelerates and boosts the speed of downloads. It also capable of managing downloads using one central screen that monitors the status of files that are being downloaded by the user. Torrent files are supported by DLD to eliminate the need for other programs support. The application interface is clean and simple, with a built-in calendar to schedule downloads. It uses mirrors to find the fastest file locations and improve download speed, and even uses multiple mirrors to support downloads. This download manager has the capability to pause and resume downloads at any time, resume broken downloads, and preview music and movies while downloading. It is capable of performing simultaneous downloads while keeping track of old downloads with the Download History. The supported protocols are HTTP, FPT, HTTPS, and BitTorrent.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dld.exe. is used by DownloadDirect, If you shut down dld.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dld.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is DownloadDirect, from your system.
