The file dladiag.exe, also known as Shared Driver Component, belongs to unknown software from Sonic Solutions. This process relates to Sonic DLA (Direct Letter Access) which is a utility that allows users to drag-and-drop files from the computer to the CD or DVD recorded. DLA is a tool that simplifies the process of formatting discs, saving files, and burning CDs or DVDs. Burning is an industry term to describe the process of recording information to a CD or DVD, which involves optical recording. This process records data and audio or video content in a form that is played back using light. Optical recordings are only possible where the data is in digital format, meaning it has been converted to binary. This binary code is then stored in a physical form on the disc. The main advantage of optical recording is that there is less physical contact with the surface storing the data than with other forms of recording, giving it a longer lifespan.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dladiag.exe. is used by Sonic DLA, If you shut down dladiag.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
