The file dfmirage.sys, known as Mirage Driver, belongs to software Mirage Driver by DemoForge. This video driver mirroring technology for Windows NT OS family is a special add-on that significantly accelerates screen capture mechanism. The mirror video driver is a display driver for a virtual device that mirrors the drawing operation of one or more additional physical display devices. Compared to screen grabbing, mirroring is a technically superior method because it allows the capture of minimally updated regions and retrieves the data directly. Display mirroring technology is employed by remote desktop applications like VNC, PC Anywhere, and Webex. Mirage Driver can solve the problem of reliable and efficient detection of modified areas of the screen. It can be used transparently with Office, CAD, and other types of utility and business applications. Executing dfmirage.exe will setup Mirage Driver with an underlying virtual display device that uses plug-n-play technology.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dfmirage.sys. is used by Mirage Driver, If you shut down dfmirage.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dfmirage.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Mirage Driver, from your system.
