Developed by Dell Incorporated, the executable file dell.controlpoint.exe launches the Dell ControlPoint, the Security Manager software that reads and stores identification data such as fingerprint files, smartcard technology, and all other management security tools between Networks. Formerly named Dell QuickSet, the Dell ControlPoint Security Manager provides a single entry point for locating and accessing data, resulting to quicker task managements and operational conveniences without compromising security safeguard. The ControlPoint Security Manager is one of the main tools used in a company’s ESC (Electronic Secure Center) in conducting secure communications in its intelligence system. In the Dell ControlPoint file’s Security Manager Overview interface are the statuses of TPM or Trusted Platform Module, Smartcard Controller, Fingerprint Reader, Contactless Smartcard, and the full disk encryption log. In the bottom part of the menu are the links of the installed program features Enroll Your Fingerprint, Run Security Configuration wizard, and Back Up Security Data.
