The file dcfssvc.exe, known as Kodak DC Ring, belongs to software Kodak DC File System Driver (Win32) by Eastman Kodak Company. This process operates as a Ring 3 Conduit for communicating from the driver level (Ring 0) to the Kodak Easy Share Software. The EasyShare is a sub-brand of Kodak products that identify a consumer photography system of digital cameras, snapshot thermal printers, all-in-one inkjet printers, accessories, camera docks, software, and online print services. The EasyShare software that uses the process dcfssvc.exe to communicate with the process driver is used to transfer and catalog images from the EasyShare camera. The catalogued photo and video images can be uploaded to social media sites in the Internet or the Kodak Gallery. The other software features are the capability to rate, tag, and caption pictures, online print ordering facilities, photo enhancement and alteration capabilities, and home printing page layout control.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dcfssvc.exe. is used by EasyShare Software, If you shut down dcfssvc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dcfssvc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is EasyShare Software, from your system.
