The dad9.exe file is normally stored in the application folder where the associated program was installed, which is found under the Program Files directory of the system partition. The Desktop Application Director software is integrated with functions for quickly and easily managing all Corel applications installed in a Windows-based system. The dad9.exe file is an executable process that contains a set of codes, resource directives and application instructions, and these pieces of data are encoded with program logic compilation specifications and data encoding standards that are normally implemented into files that are stored in the EXE format. These codes are referenced by associated applications when a user requests for certain integrated features provided by the programs, or when the system and other third party applications, firmware or driver software resources require certain functionalities of the associated programs to initialize.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. dad9.exe. is used by Desktop Application Director, If you shut down dad9.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop dad9.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Desktop Application Director, from your system.
