The cu.exe process is an executable file that is implemented as the dispatcher of the Windows CleanUp! application. The content of the cu.exe process includes program logic code comprised of sequential lines of commands, resource directives and instructions for calling other program files, application-specific modules and modular system resources required by the Windows CleanUp! software to perform its intended functions as requested by the user. The Windows CleanUp! program is classified as a system maintenance tool with integrated functionalities that can allow users to conveniently delete temporary files and Web browser data from their Windows-based systems.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cu.exe. is used by Windows CleanUp!, If you shut down cu.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cu.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Windows CleanUp!, from your system.
