What is csrss32.exe
Many users claim that their system security tools flag the csrss32.exe process as a malicious application associated with variants and components of certain Trojans and backdoor rootkits that are added to the system by the AGOBOT/GAOBOT and AGOBOT-HC applications, which are families of worms known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with outdated OS security certificates, unencrypted TCP/IP network ports and an unsecured Windows System Registry. Other users reported that the csrss32.exe process is classified by their anti-malware tools as a malware item related to certain variants of Trojans known to be added by the AGOBOT-JI program, which is another family of worms. Both user groups claim that the csrss32.exe malware is capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected computer upon its successful placement and activation, and these registry strings are said to allow the csrss32.exe malware to automatically initialize during system startup and to operate as a cloacked background process during system runtime, often appearing in the Processes tab of the Windows Task Manager as "System Log Event", "Microsoft Update Service" or "Microsoft CSRSS32 Protocol". These same users also state that the csrss32.exe process is capable of exploiting and using unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the unprotected computer to contact predesignated remote servers and to download more malicious programs unto the system from these remote servers, which are said to be managed by the authors of the csrss32.exe malware.
