The cproc.exe process is an executable file flagged by the anti-malware applications of many users as a malicious program associated with a component or variant of Trojan families and worms that are known to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with missing OS security certificates and an unsecured Windows System Registry. The cproc.exe malware has also been reported by these users as capable of creating and injecting keys and entries into the unsecured Windows System Registry of the unprotected system upon the successful placement and activation of the cproc.exe malware, and these users claim that these registry keys and entries instruct Microsoft Windows to allow the automatic initialization of the cproc.exe malware during system startup and for this malicious application to operate as a hidden background process during system runtime. These users also state that the cproc.exe process is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports of the unprotected Windows-based computer, especially those with outdated or missing OS security certificates, in order for the cproc.exe malware to use these system vulnerabilities to download more malicious applications unto the system from predesignated remote servers that are managed by the authors of this malware, and to transmit copies of itself via email to the user's IM and address book contact details that are stored in the infected computer.
How can I stop cproc.exe and should I?
Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. cproc.exe. is used by Trojan/Worm, If you shut down cproc.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop cproc.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan/Worm, from your system.
