What is cpd.exe
The cpde.exe process is a component integrated into the firewall configuration modules of certain applications included in McAfee’s line of software security products. The cpde.exe file works in the background of the software called ConSeal Private Desktop Firewall, which was first designed by Signal9 Solutions and was later acquired by McAfee, and this software was renamed to McAfee Personal Firewall in 1999. The cpde.exe process activates some features of the McAfee Personal Firewall and is able to detect an unauthorized application that is trying to access the resources of the system. This process and its associated modules prevent these possibly malicious programs from penetrating the system. The cpde.exe file is also implemented into the McAfee Virus Scan program. These McAfee system security tools and the cpde.exe process are implemented with compatibility support for widely used versions of Microsoft Windows.
