The coolmon.exe process is an executable component file of the CoolMon software, which is a small Windows program classified as a system maintenance and monitoring tool that was developed with a set of features for monitoring the activity of the system, along with the tasks performed by its built-in and third party applications, as well as the procedures carried out by the hardware devices that are connected to the Windows-based computer. The CoolMon software was designed to assist users and system administrators in analyzing the details provided by the CoolMon application and in implementing system optimization and administration tasks that can improve the overall performance of the computer, its applications and connected hardware devices. The coolmon.exe process is specifically deployed into the system by the CoolMon software as its executable program dispatcher file, which means users can activate the coolmon.exe file to load the CoolMon software unto the system, access its UI (User Interface) components, place an icon in the Windows System Tray to conveniently access these CoolMon UI menu items and control panel options, and implement the embedded system monitoring functionalities of the CoolMon software into the Windows-based computer. The coolmon.exe file is placed in the system upon the installation of the CoolMon program.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. coolmon.exe. is used by CoolMon, If you shut down coolmon.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop coolmon.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is CoolMon, from your system.
