The configdlg.exe process is an executable component file of the Cherry Smart Device Package software, which is a suite of Windows programs comprised of firmware resources and device driver software utilities for Cherry smart card readers. The configdlg.exe file is placed in the system alongside these Cherry smart card reader firmware components, device driver software utilities and other bundled applications upon the installation of the Cherry Smart Device Package software. The configdlg.exe process assists these firmware utilities and drivers among other applications that are bundled into the Cherry Smart Device Package software in integrating the PKI (Public Key Interface) cryptographic encryption and decryption functionalities of these Cherry smart card readers into the Windows-based computer.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. configdlg.exe. is used by Cherry Smart Device Package and Cherry Smart Card Reader Firmware/Driver Software, If you shut down configdlg.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop configdlg.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Cherry Smart Device Package and Cherry Smart Card Reader Firmware/Driver Software, from your system.
