Many users claim that their anti-malware tools flag the comsyslog.exe process as a malicious program associated with variants of Trojans and worms with spyware functionalities, which have been reported to infect unprotected Windows-based systems with unencrypted TCP/IP network ports, outdated system security certificates and an unsecured or mismanaged Windows System Registry. These users also state that the comsyslog.exe process is integrated with self-activating functionalities that the comsyslog.exe process is said to implement during Windows startup. The system is said to allow the comsyslog.exe malware to automatically initialize during system startup and operate as a hidden background process during system runtime because of certain keys and entries that the comsyslog.exe process is said to be capable of creating and injecting into the unsecured Windows System Registry of unprotected Windows-based computers upon the successful placement and activation of the comsyslog.exe malware in the system with missing or outdated OS security certificates. These users also reported that the comsyslog.exe malware is capable of exploiting unencrypted TCP/IP network ports that the comsyslog.exe process is said to use for initiating contact with remote servers that are managed by the authors of the comsyslog.exe malware and for downloading more malicious items unto the infected system from these remote servers.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. comsyslog.exe. is used by Trojan/Worm, If you shut down comsyslog.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop comsyslog.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Trojan/Worm, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Trojan/Worm, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
